User Guides

Not to be mistaken with in-depth technical documentation, User Guides are simply written “How To” e-manuals that sit alongside a company’s internal computer system. They give staff a nice quick reminder of how an action is carried out with step by step instructions, accompanied by screen shots and short video animations.

Using products such as Robohelp, Captivate and Camtasia, the guides can be developed to fit into a company’s culture using the same terminology, and real examples of how the system works in that organisation.

It can be developed alongside a roll out of a new system to include trainer notes, quick fix cards and links to more detailed technical documentation. Depending on the openness of the system it can also be set up to link directly to the systems help functionality.
